White-eyed gull [4] (Ichthyaetus leucophthalmus) - a species of water bird from the gull family (Laridae), found in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. He regularly, though sparse, ventures north into the Gulf of Aqaba. It breeds on the islands of Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia [5]. Mostly coastal, fish-eating. Body length 39–43 cm, wingspan 100–109 cm [6]. There are no subspecies [5] [7].
