Social lapwing [4] (Vanellus gregarius) - a species of a medium migratory bird from the plover family (Charadriidae), inhabiting south-central Russia and Kazakhstan. It winters in Sudan, Eritrea, Israel, the Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan and India, probably also in Iraq and Iran [2]. It flies to Poland sporadically (43 reports of this species were recorded until 2017 [5]). Critically endangered species. There are no subspecies [2] [6].
