Shin-billed gull [3] (Chroicocephalus genei) - a species of large water bird from the gull family (Laridae), inhabiting the island belt from Senegal and Mauritania through the southern and eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian sea basins, Asia Minor and the Middle East to Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Northwest India. It winters in much of the basins of the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian seas, around the Arabian Peninsula south to the Horn of Africa [2]. There are no subspecies [4]. It flies to Poland exceptionally - until 2018 it was found only 5 times [5].
