"Ground Control, we have a problem" online puzzle

UKRAP (United Kingdom Rocket and Aeronautical Program) has, on a very limited budget, managed to put an Englishman into orbit for the first time. But unfortunately the safety rope tethering him to his capsule during a space walkabout has parted due to Gorilla Tape failure, and the backup granny-knot system has malfunctioned too. Never mind, at least he's carrying a transistor radio tuned to the BBC World Service, so he won't be too bored while the technicians at Grimsby Town Launch Control Centre figure out a way to rescue him.
