wooden house - online puzzles
Light wooden skeleton - technology for building small and medium-sized buildings (single- family houses, terraced houses ), popular in the USA, Canada and the Scandinavian countries.
The basic construction material are boards, usually 38 mm thick (nominal thickness 1.5 inches) and width depending on strength needs. The walls are usually made of boards 89 mm wide (external walls, due to thermal insulation - made of boards 140 mm wide), with an axial spacing of 40 or 60 cm.
Construction
The construction consists in joining boards into wall shields with nails or using special metal joints and then placing the walls vertically.
There are two basic types of construction due to the method of ceiling fixing:
platform construction - planks constituting ribs of the ceiling are laid on the caps of standing walls, and on them a floor of boards or, more often, boards. The walls of the upper storey or flat roof are constructed using the floor as a working platform.
balloon structure, where ceilings hang on wall posts, the height of which is one and a half or more storey height (usually one and a half in one-story buildings with attic ). facade layer) and covers with a wooden facade, made of siding or thin-layer plaster.
The spaces inside the walls are filled with heat -insulating material ( glass wool, mineral wool, or other). From the inside, a vapor barrier and an interior finish (plasterboard) are installed.
Timber from which the skeleton is made should be planed and dried on four sides at a temperature exceeding 67 degrees Celsius or impregnated.
