Paulo Bruno Exequiel Dybala (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpaulo ðiˈβala]; born 15 November 1993) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Italian club Juventus and the Argentina national team. Considered the world 's eleventh most expensive player from a transfer value perspective by the CIES, he is commonly referred to as "La Joya" ("The Jewel") due to his creative style of play, pace, talent, technique and eye for goal.After beginning his career in Argentina with Instituto de Córdoba in 2011, he moved to Italian club Palermo in 2012. He played three seasons for Palermo, two in Serie A and won Serie B in 2013–14. In 2015, he joined Juventus for an initial fee of €32 million and has since made over 100 appearances for the club, winning the double of Serie A and Coppa Italia in each of his three seasons. He has twice been named in the Serie A Team of the Year. Dybala made his senior international debut for Argentina in 2015 and was chosen for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Early life
Paulo Dybala was born in Laguna Larga, in Córdoba, Argentina. His grandfather, Bolesław Dybała, was from the village of Kraśniów in Poland ; he fled from his country of birth to Argentina during World War II. Dybala's family also has Italian origins through his maternal grandmother, named Da Messa, from the Province of Naples. Dybala officially obtained his Italian citizenship on 13 August 2012.
Club career
Instituto de Córdoba
Nicknamed "La Joya" or "El pibe de la pensión", Dybala made his professional debut in the Primera B Nacional (Argentine second division) with his hometown club Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba at age 17.
