In response to conscious or unconscious, but always active destruction of nature by man, the idea of its active protection arose, aiming to reverse or compensate for adverse changes introduced into the environment by man. Poland's accession to the European Union opened new opportunities in this respect by obtaining EU funds for pro-ecological investments. Despite this, the success of the idea of active nature protection still depends mainly on the willingness and awareness of each individual citizen who must know how their behavior affects the environment and want to change the state of the environment for the better.
