History The Uniate Church in Werbkowice, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel was erected in 1864 by Antoni Szydłowski on the site of an older temple of the same religion from 1690 [1]. After the liquidation of the Uniate diocese of Chełm, the building was taken over by the Russian Orthodox Church [2]. In 1919 the church was taken over by the Roman Catholic parish and reconciled as a church [2]. Until 1997, it remained a parish temple, until a new church was built [1]. In the twentieth century, the church was rebuilt, removing the dome typical for church architecture and adding a sacristy [2]. In the main altar there is an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, while in the side altars there is an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Antoni [1]. In 2014, the church was undergoing maintenance.
