St. Faustina - a Roman Catholic church in Warsaw. Since 1981 it has been the center of the parish, currently under the invocation of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina. In the years 1863–1944 the building served as an internal chapel situated in the convent complex of the Sisters of Divine Mercy; Destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising, it remained a ruin until the beginning of the 21st century, when it was rebuilt to its present state. The building and its immediate vicinity gained symbolic status in the 1980s; they were a center of independent art, strongly saturated with political opposition to the official regime. Today, the church is known primarily as associated with St. Faustina Kowalska, who was admitted to a neighboring monastery in 1925.
