Brzostów (formerly a separate town, now part of Głogów) was built around 1502, on the site of an earlier one. The builders were Michał Horn and Hans Lincke. The first temple, mentioned in 1399, burnt down in the middle of the 15th century. Apart from a few reconstructions, the shape of the church has not changed significantly since then. The church has an interesting history, for example in 1639 Swedish cavalry quartered in the temple, and in 1806 the French stored ammunition there. After the annexation of Brzostów to the city of Głogów, the church became the only medieval building that was not damaged during World War II. In the church of St. Lawrence, part of the furnishings of the church of St. Peter, located near the Castle of the Dukes of Głogów. It is the main altar and the painting located in the sacristy. It presents Mary with the Child. It is the so-called rosary image (Mary is holding a rosary in her left hand and a scepter in her right). An interesting fact is that the holy figures wore silver crowns in the 18th century.
