Landshut - The "Landshut Wedding" (German: Landshuter Hochzeit) is a famous historical festival that has its origins in an event from the 15th century. Here, in 1475, the Bavarian prince George the Rich married Hedwig Jagiellon, daughter of Casimir Jagiellon (then king of Poland). As befits a prince-royal wedding, the ceremony was held with great pomp and was immortalized in the chronicles. In memory of this event, since 1903, the so-called A wedding in Landshut, meticulously recreating a medieval celebration.
