List of works by Rogier van der Weyden - a list of works by a representative of the Dutch school - Rogier van der Weyden. The works of Rogier van der Weyden fall into three basic categories: sacred painting, portrait painting and miniature painting. In the field of sacred painting, one should take into account painted altar retabulas intended for churches and chapels (The Last Judgment, Descent from the Cross, Altar of St. Columbus) as well as paintings and retabula of a smaller format for private devotion (Altar of the Sforza, Triptych of the Braque family). In the case of triptychs Rogier van der Weyden did not limit himself to the common Gothic formula of a cabinet altar with movable side wings, but also in the artist's oeuvre there were known triptychs consisting of three parts but all forming a single whole (St. John's Triptych, Miraflores Triptych, Altar Of the Seven Sacraments). Moreover, the artist created single paintings (Lamentation, Madonna and Child). In the case of portraits, apart from single bust portraits, the artist created diptychs, juxtaposing a secular figure with Mary and the Baby Jesus.
