The Habsburgs also seized the throne of the Holy Roman Emperor for themselves. The states of the Habsburg monarchy were united into the Empire of Austria on August 11, 1804, and two years later, Dice-Emperor Francis II Habsburg dissolved the Holy Roman Empire.
