Mountain boletus (Butyriboletus subappendiculatus (Dermek, Lazebn. & J. Veselský) Arora & J.L. Frank) - a species of cap mushroom from the boletus family (Boletaceae) [1]. The nomenclature of this species and its occurrence in Poland is very unclear. According to Index Fungorum, it is a separate species, and the list of all species of large-fruited mushrooms in Poland compiled by Władysław Wojewoda does not contain this species [2]. This means that either this species does not occur in Poland or, for Polish mycologists, it is unknown or identified with another species. Morphologically, the so-called yellow-brown boletus (Butyriboletus appendiculatus). Butyriboletus subappendiculatus (mountain boletus) is, however, in the online mushroom atlas, where it is considered a form of yellow-brown boletus [3].
