However, it prefers cooler waters. He is known for his long migrations, incl. from New England to South America. Although it swims sluggishly, it can move with considerable speed. Blue sharks are viviparous and the female gives birth to 25 to 100 young. It mainly hunts for fish and squid, although its prey may be larger animals. A species that is dangerous for humans due to the possibility of being bitten, even fatal.
