Steppe crane (Grus virgo) - a species of large migratory bird from the family of cranes (Gruidae). Inhabits a strip from the shores of the Black Sea through Central Asia to Mongolia and north-eastern China, a small breeding population also in eastern Turkey; a small population in northwestern Africa (Atlas Mountains) died out in the second half of the 20th century [2] [4]. It winters in sub-Saharan Africa (from Chad to Ethiopia) and in the Indian subcontinent [2]. It has an exceptional feel to Poland (it was found only twice - most recently in 2016 [5]). There are no subspecies [2] [6].
