Dalmatian pelican (Pelecanus crispus) - a species of large, migratory water bird from the pelican family (Pelecanidae). It occurs on an island, mainly in south-west and central Asia, and also in Europe: in the deltas of the Volga and Danube, and on lakes Prespa and Ohrid. In antiquity, it nested in Western Europe, and until the middle of the 19th century in Hungary. It winters in the countries of the eastern Mediterranean basin, in southern Asia, and the Mongolian population - on the eastern coast of China [2]. There are no subspecies [3]. It appears only exceptionally in Poland [4]. Dalmatian pelicans were photographed several times in Poland in 2010, also in Warsaw (it was probably the same individual that made the flight over Poland) [5], and in 2015 and 2016 [6]. In total, by the end of 2018, there were 6 confirmed statements [7].
