Wadi (Arabic: وَادِي‎, translit. wādī; Hebrew: ואדי‬ vādī), alternatively wād (Arabic: وَاد‎), is the Arabic and Hebrew term traditionally referring to a valley. In some instances, it may refer to a dry (ephemeral) riverbed that contains water only during times of heavy rain.
