History
The house was built in 1928 from contributions of ZASP members and donations to theater enthusiasts, for lonely retired artists. Built on the initiative of actor Antoni Bednarczyk on the plot founded by Wacław Preker. Until World War II, a shelter for actors in a difficult life situation.
After the war, maintained thanks to the subsidies of the Ministry of Culture and Arts and thanks to charity events organized by the actors, it is still a place of residence and residence for many artists. In the 1980s, enlarged by a new building, it is inhabited by 40 people, where each of the residents has their own room and provided with care. There are also apartments for married couples, with bathrooms and kitchenettes.
