Lele Martini
Lele Martini, played by Giulio Scarpati (st. 1-2, 6-8, 10, guest 3 and 4), is a hardworking and brilliant doctor, the protagonist for most of the series. It is the equivalent of the character of Nacho Martín, played by Emilio Aragón Álvarez, protagonist of the original Spanish series Médico de familia. Lele is the second son of Libero and the late Elvira and the younger brother of Nilde. His first wife Elena Solari (played by Beatrice Bocci), who gave him their three children Maria, Ciccio and Annuccia, died in a car accident two years before the start of the series. In the first episode, Lele moved from the center of Rome to a small villa in Poggio Fiorito, together with her father and children. In the first two seasons he worked in the experimental ASL of Rome.Giulio Scarpati, after the great success obtained, decided to abandon the series after the second season, so as not to remain too attached to the figure of his character. Only after several years from the second season, Scarpati decided to return to the series both to find out how much his character could have changed and how much he could still give him as an actor. Giulio Scarpati decided to leave the series once again after the end of the eighth season to devote himself to other projects, but the character returns in the tenth season.The character hides a melancholy for the death of his wife, and is troubled by the responsibility for the children who it involves him being the only parent.
