Hokage (jap. 火影) - commander-in-chief of Konoha (a fictional village appearing in the manga and anime of Naruto ) and the most powerful Shinobi in the village. He performs both the functions of the commander and the defender of the village. In Japanese, the word hokage means "shadows or shapes moving in the light of fire."
History
The founders of the Hidden Leaf Village were hokage - Hashirama Senju (Japanese: ju 柱 間 Senju Hashirama) and Second Hokage, and partly Uchiha Madara. However, Hashirama was chosen as the first leader of the village, who wanted peace between the Senju and Uchiha clans. Unfortunately, some time later there were internal conflicts about influence and power over the village. The result was the fight of the First Hokage with the founder of the Uchiha clan - Madara - which the Senju member eventually won.
Over the next several dozen peaceful years, the village was ruled by: Hashirama, followed by his brother, Tobirama Senju.
