Fairies - a prose social and political dialogue of Jan Kochanowski, published in Drukarnia Łazarzowa in 1587 (so after the author 's death ). The edition was preceded by Song VIII from the Second Books [inc. "Do not worry, Santa, head "]. The title word " fairies " is used in the sense of today's word " divination ".
The exact date of the song 's creation is unknown. Surely the Fairies were written after Satire (1563) - they contain numerous allusions to this poem (e.g. the characters refer to the statements of his title hero ). On the basis of political comments contained in the dialogue, researchers determine the probable year of its creation as 1564, 1566 or 1569.
The content of the song is a dialoguebetween Pleban (informative) and Earthling (asking questions). The interlocutors consider the dangers threatening the country, they complain of noble disagreement and carelessness in the field of the rights and defense of the state and the fall of old customs.
