He started to play volleyball in 1994. In elementary school he was a student of a sports class. He started his sports career at KS Metro Warszawa, and his first coach was Krzysztof Zimnicki. Then for four years he played in MOS Wola Warszawa, with which he won the Polish championship twice, first in the category of cadets (2001, then juniors 2003). In the 2011/2012 season, Gorzkiewicz played the role of the second playmaker in the AZS team at the Warsaw University of Technology in PlusLiga, where he was Patrick Steuerwald's substitute. The team reached the final of the Challenge Cup in which they were beaten by AZS Częstochowa. In the 2012/2013 season he was a player of KPS Jadar Siedlce.
