The present church was erected in the neo-Gothic style in the years 1891-1893 by Countess Ludwika Ostrowska née Kuczyńska under the direction of the then parish priest, Father Teofil Rybka. The church was designed by architect Kazimierz Zajączkowski, the main builder of the district of Węgrów. The cornerstone for the construction of the temple was laid and consecrated on June 21, 1891. The church was consecrated in 1893 by priest Franciszek Jaczewski, bishop of Lublin and apostolic administrator of the Podlasie diocese. During the war, on August 10-12, 1944, the temple was damaged, the roof, windows, doors and the tower were destroyed. In the years 1992-1995, the church was covered with a copper plate thanks to the efforts of the priest canon Władysław Kopyście. The church houses the miraculous image of Our Lady of Consolation. This image was revealed to Hiacenty (Jacek) Pazio in January 1727. In 1730, thanks to the decision of the bishop of Lutsk, priest Stefan Bogusław Rupniewski, the image was displayed for public worship and from then on it was given its due part. On June 22, 1997, the painting was crowned with papal diadems by the priest Cardinal Józef Glemp, Primate of Poland, with the participation of Archbishop Stanisław Szymecki, Archbishop of Białystok [2].
