Sebastiano Mainardi (he also used the form of the name Bastiano) (born September 23, 1466 in San Gimignano, died September 1513 in Florence) - Italian painter. He was a student and later a collaborator of Domenico Ghirlandaio. Giorgio Vasari in his collection of biographies of Italian artists mentions Mainardi as a student and continuator of the works of Ghirlandaia in the years 1475-1477. Mainardi is credited with frescoes in the collegiate chapel of San Gimignano, the Passignano Abbey in Val di Pesa near Florence, and other churches. He also created a series of paintings depicting the Madonna and Child. In the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw there is a painting by Mainardi depicting St. Jerome.
