Zielona Góra (pronounced and; Latin Thalloris, Prasia Elysiorum [3], German Grünberg in Schlesien, part Zelená Hora, colloquially also Winny Gród) - a town with poviat rights in western Poland, the largest city in the voivodeship Lubuskie, the seat of the voivodeship self-government, the marshal and the board of the Lubuskie voivodship and the Lubuskie voivodeship assembly and their subordinate units, and the starost of the Zielona Góra poviat, the capital of the Zielona Góra-Gorzów diocese. Together with Sulechów and Nowa Sol, it creates the so-called Lubuskie Tricity. It belongs to the Association of Polish Cities. On January 1, 2015, it expanded to the area of the Zielona Góra commune [4] [5]. According to the data of the Central Statistical Office of Poland from June 30, 2020, the city had 141 280 inhabitants [2], which puts it in the 24th position in the country in terms of population [6].
