Wadowice (medieval German name Frauenstadt [4]) - a city in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the seat of the authorities of the Wadowice poviat and the municipal-rural commune of Wadowice. It is situated in the western part in the Silesian Foothills, in the southern part in the Little Beskids, on the Skawa River. The city is crossed by the national road No. 28, the national road No. 52 and the railway line No. 117.
