Lubliniec (originally: Lubin and Lublin Śląski, German Lublinitz [3] [until 1922, 1939-1941], Loben [1941-1945], Silesian Lublyńec [note needed], Latin Lobin) - a town in the Silesian Voivodeship, seat authorities of the Lubliniec poviat. The main economic, tourist, cultural, educational, agricultural and industrial center of the Lubliniec region and the second largest (after Częstochowa) in the northern part of the Silesian Voivodeship. One of the oldest cities in Silesia, the largest city of the Opole Plain and the capital of the so-called White Silesia.
