There is a legend about the creation of the Błędowska Desert, apparently it originated from the Baltic sands. Long ago, when zinc and lead were mined in the mine windows, and by the way also silver, the miners made noise over the heads of the devils. The devils were angry not only with the tapping on the mountain that they could not sleep through, but also with the fact that people took silver from them, which according to them belonged only to the underworld. Then one of the devils came up with the idea to cover the mines with sand. When he came back from the sea with a great sack of sand, he caught him in the tower of the church of Klucze and through a huge hole in the sack, the sand spilled over the area, creating a vast desert.
