A national park located in the USA, in central California, on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada. The park is managed by the National Park Service and covers an area of approximately 3030 km. Each year, it is visited by more than 3.6 million tourists, with most of them spending their time in the Yosemite Valley. In 1984, the park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is best known for granite cliffs, waterfalls, clean streams, giant mammoth clusters (sequoias) and biodiversity. Over 95% of the park's area is land not transformed to a large extent by man.
