The film is about Andy's toys. His favorite is a cowboy named Skinny. Andy's collection includes, among others toys: thin dog, Mr. Bulwa or the green dinosaur Rex. On his birthday, Andy receives Buzz Lightyear as a gift - an astronaut who "pushes" Skinny into the corner, becoming the boy's favorite toy. Skinny is jealous of a new toy. One day, he accidentally gets rid of Buzz, causing the other toys to turn away from him. Skinny, however, decides to repair the damage and bring Buzz back home. Andy's neighbor Sid gets his hands on a cowboy and an astronaut and wants to blow them up. So Buzz and Skinny have to run away.
