The island was once a settlement of the poor. Currently, however, only the rich and very rich can enter the island of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro. Poorer and even moderately wealthy people can only see the island, and only from a distance. Why this change? After the indigenous inhabitants began to emigrate to the West after World War II, an idea arose to transform the deserted village and change its character.
