Castle in Liw (Mazowieckie Voivodeship) - a Gothic stronghold, built in the first half of the 19th century. 15th century in the valley of the Liwiec River. The fortress guarded the then border between the Duchy of Mazovia and Lithuania. The castle and most of the defensive walls were destroyed during the Swedish Deluge. The tower, the remains of the walls, the Baroque manor house of the Liw County (from 1782) and the Gothic cellars have survived to this day. Since 1963, the castle complex in Liw has been the seat of the Armory Museum, which presents militaria from around the world, from Roman monuments to 20th-century weapons. photo. jarko7
