Berlin Cathedral (German: Berliner Dom; official name: Oberpfarr- und Domkirche zu Berlin) - an Evangelical cathedral, located in Berlin, in the Mitte district, on the Museum Island. It was built in the years 1894-1905 according to the design of the architect Julius Carl Raschdorff in an eclectic combination of forms referring to the Renaissance and the Baroque [1]. In the place where the Evangelical cathedral stands today, there used to be a smaller cathedral in the baroque style. In 1944, the cathedral was damaged by Allied air raids related to World War II, and its reconstruction began in 1975. The temple has 1,500 seats and is one of the largest in Berlin. It is here that most often ecumenical services are held on the occasion of national holidays or at moments important for the nation
