The Loire Valley extends over a length of 280 km. In 2000, the huge valley area was inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO list, becoming the largest area in France recognized as a world cultural heritage. The Loire Valley is a unique place showing how a man could get a place along the river. In the vicinity, 300 castles were created, of which 100 of them enjoy their owners and tourists until today. The landscape of the Loire Valley is unique from the point of view of the architecture of historic cities such as Blois, Chinon, Orléans, Saumur, Tours, Nantes and Angers. However, it is famous primarily for world-renowned residences such as Chambord, Chenonceau, Clos Lucé, royal castles in Amboise and Blois, the royal abbey in Fontevraud and the beautiful gardens of Villandry Castle. The whole is complemented by rich French cuisine and exquisite regional wines.
