Bartolomeo Vivarini (born around 1430 in Murano, died around 1499 therein) - Italian painter of the Early Renaissance period. He came from a family of Venetian painters: he was the younger brother of Antonio Vivarini and the uncle of Alvise Vivarini. From 1450 he worked with his brother in a joint workshop. He only painted religious pictures. His works are characterized by bright colors, precision in rendering details and a liking for presenting decorative elements (fruit and flower garlands).
