The Japanese flower artist Makoto Azuma shoots flowers or bonsai into space. Several cameras accompanied the journey of the flowers into space and back and documented the effects of changes in light and temperature on the flowers at a height of almost 30 kilometers. "Exobiotanica2" is the fourth part of Makoto's series of experiments "in bloom", for which he has already planted a tower of flowers in the sea and carried a 50-year-old bonsai tree into space. His goal is to bring plant sculptures into environments "where nature doesn't actually allow them to exist."
