Jan Brueghel or Bruegel the Younger (born September 13, 1601, died September 1, 1678) - Flemish Baroque painter, son of Jan Brueghl the elder. He was active in Antwerp. In his youth, he traveled to Italy, where he worked at the court of Archbishop Charles Borromeo. He met Anton van Dyck in Genoa. In 1625, he was admitted as a master to the Guild of St. Luke. He took over the atelier from his father. He collaborated, among others with Rubens. Among his patrons was Archduke Leopold Wilhelm Habsburg.
