Northern goose [8] (Branta hutchinsii) - a species of bird from the subfamily goose (Anserinae) in the family of ducklings (Anatidae), formerly considered a subspecies of the Canadian goose [9]. Nests in the North American tundra (Canada, Alaska) [7]. It winters mainly in the south of the continent (after Mexico) [7], while in Japan currently hibernating specimens from the B. h. Leucopareia subspecies reintroduced in the Aleutian Islands (previously the extinct B. h. Asiatica population wintered there) [10].
