Farnesian Atlas - Roman marble copy of the 2nd century Hellenistic sculpture depicting the figure of Atlas. The sculpture of an anonymous artist has been kept in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples since 1800 [1]. The statue is 210 centimeters high and 65 cm in diameter. The name Pharnesis refers to the acquisition of the statue by Cardinal Alessandro Farnese at the beginning of the 16th century and its exhibition at the Farnese Palace in Capraroli.
