In a relatively large area of the country, amounting to 322.5 thousand. km², live representatives of over 60 different ethnic groups belonging to three African language families. In terms of denominations, Côte d'Ivoire is very diverse - the largest group is Muslim, but also Catholics, Protestants and other smaller local religious groups, mainly animist.
