Green-crested turak [4] (Tauraco persa) - a species of medium-sized bird of the Turakidae family (Musophagidae), found in West and Central Africa, mainly along the coast of the Gulf of Guinea. He lives in forests from Senegal in the west, through m.in. Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria and Cameroon to Gabon, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo and northern Angola to the east and south. Characteristic for this and several related species is the presence of a green dye, turacoverdine, unheard of in almost any other animal [5].
