Broad-nosed monkeys [1], New World monkeys (Platyrrhini) - parvordo of small, arboreal primates of the simiiformes with a flat and wide nose, classified in four families of New World monkeys. The broad-nosed monkeys come from the same trunk as the Old World narrow-nosed monkeys and the great-nosed monkeys - together with them they are called the proper monkeys (Simiiformes), but their evolution was different as a result of the migration of continents. The Platyrrhini line of development split from the narrow noses about 40 million years ago. Broad-noses inhabit only tropical areas of South America and Central America.
