Eastern Chipmunk. online puzzle
Lifestyle The Eastern Chipmunk lives in large numbers in all the eastern states of the United States and in the southeast of Canada. Most often it lives in deciduous forests and shrub biotopes. He also likes rocky terrain. The Eastern Chipmunk is not a skittish animal and lives without fear of human habitation. Although the chipmunk is very nimble to climb and lives in (or near) forests, it rarely climbs trees. It lives mostly on land and during its forest walks it treads permanent routes and paths. It establishes vast and complex corridors underground, often under fallen and uprooted trees, constantly expanding them. These tunnels, with multiple entrances, can be up to 10 meters long. The chipmunk spends most of the year alone defending the territory near its burrow. Its size varies and is conditioned by food resources, depending on the season.
